Animal Treatments
Dogs/Cats:
I will carry out the treatments in your home to ensure your pet is in a familiar environment, thereby reducing any stress.  While I channel Reiki to them they are free to move around, come and sit beside me or even on me!  If they wish to keep a distance from me (I will offer this distance at the first treatment and your animal will have the choice to move closer should they wish), take a drink or even go outside to toilet – that is fine, the Reiki will just continue!
Horses:
I will come to your yard to treat your equine either in their field or stable or wherever they feel most comfortable.  I will always carry my first treatment outwith the field or stable so that they can walk around and we will both have as much room as we need.  The Reiki will continue to chanel to them no matter where they are!
Treatments:
I will carry out a treatment either by laying my hands on or near your animal or at a distance.  This distance can be small for example from one end of the room to another, or when we are miles apart – a distance Reiki treatment will carry the same energy as a hands on treatment.
Water!

Animals, like humans, tend to need to drink lots of water after a Reiki treatment, please make sure you have plenty of fresh, clean water available for them at all times.

     What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced "ray-key") is a simple, oriental method of working with energy to put your mind and body into balance.  Reiki is used to facilitate healing from mental/emotional and physical symptoms, and illnesses.

Reiki is an "intelligent" energy - meaning, it knows where it needs to go to put the person/animal into emotional/physical balance.  There is no need to diagnose in order to treat somebody with Reiki and I would stress that Reiki is not a diagnostic treatment.

Reiki works alongside both conventional and other complementary therapies.

Reiki is not a religion.

A special moment, while sending love to a greyhound!

What Treatments are available?
Depending on your animals circumstances, I can visit you at your home and yard and carry out a treatment in either by placing my hands on or near your animal, or indeed (for safety reasons) on the other side of a fence or stable door.

If your animal is unwell or at the vet hospital or indeed if a visit would stress the animal too much, I can carry out a distant treament - the energy flows the same either way!

What can be treated?

Before an animal treatment?

Before any Reiki Practitioner can carry out a Reiki treatment on your animals, you must first seek approval from your vet. This should consist of a simple phone call, to establish that your Vet is happy for your animal to receive a Reiki treatment.

Behaviour issues can also benefit from Reiki, however, I will always suggest you seek the help of a certified, force-free dog trainer*.

Reiki is a complementary therapy and is not intended to replace medical or veterinary care and advice. Persons or animals needing medical/veterinary attention should call their doctor/Veterinary Surgery.  If you are working with a dog trainer or behaviourist, it is advisable to let them know so they can also adjust their programme accordingly.

*I am a Professional Canine Trainer (Accredited) by the Pet Professional Accreditation Board and am a full member of the PPG British Isles.  I work to their ethics of causing no pain, no force and no fear in my dealings with all animals, and am available for training and behaviour consultations outwith Reiki treatments

How Long Does Each Treatment Take?

Animal treatments can vary, but are usually around 45 minutes - 1 hour.  Animals are very good at telling us when they've received all the energy they need for the day....although some would just lie and accept it all day given half a chance!

What Are Treatment Costs*?

Animal Reiki - £35 per treatment

Distant Reiki - £20 (30 minute session) or £30 (60 minute session)

If you wish to book/pay for a course face to face** sessions in advance, I offer a discounted rate of £30 per treatment  i.e. £180 for 6 treatments  or £300 for 10 treatments.

Travel Costs for Home/Yard Visits:  No extra travel costs for anyone within a 10 mile radius of my home in Gorebridge.  Please contact me for details should you live further out than this.  It's often a good idea to ask friends and family who live locally if they would also be interested in a treatment on the same day as this will lower travel costs.  I shall also, where possible, try and organise my diary in such a way to lower any such additional costs to my clients.  Mileage will be calculated at 40p per mile thereafter.

*I am not able to offer a discount for Distant Reiki treatments
** payment must be made 48hrs prior to my agreed visit.  I will send an estimate to you at time of your enquiry and your confirmation via email will secure your booking.  An invoice will then be sent to you at the beginning of the month or at least 48 hrs prior to my visit.  Please note I do not accept cash when I am on the road for safety reasons.

How Many Treatments?

Whilst one treatment can bring changes for your animals, I would always recommend a course of treatments.  Reiki is cumulative, so for the best results it's good to do one treatment a week for 4-6 weeks. Sometimes more treatments are required in a week, depending on how acute any issues are.
